Texana Center is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that provides behavioral healthcare, intellectual & developmental disabilities services to over 15,000 adults and children. Texana has over 40 facilities spread across its service area which includes Fort Bend County and five smaller surrounding counties.

In 2009, the Texana Board of Trustees approved the formation of a Community Advisory Board to support our community relations and fundraising efforts for Texana’s programs. They felt that a strong and effective Community Advisory Board would be a tremendous asset to Texana.

The Community Advisory Board was set up on an informal basis and was not intended to have a governing or decision making role but rather would serve to provide ideas, advice and recommendations to the Texana Board of Trustees through the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The SLT believes the organization will be able to accomplish considerably more and our mission will be stronger throughout the community will the assistance of a Community Advisory Board.

Since that time, our goal has been to recruit 30 thoughtful community leaders who have a genuine interest in the behavioral healthcare and/or intellectual & developmental disabilities services that we provide and a desire to see us extend our services to those in need.
