Because Texana Center serves such a vulnerable population, the decision has been made to keep the temporary closures of our Children’s Center for Autism and our Texana Learning Centers extended until the end of May.  We are hoping to be able to reopen these programs on June 1, 2020.

Texana has extended the temporary closures of our Children’s Center for Autism and our Texana Learning Centers through Friday, May 15, 2020. 

If your child is a current client of any of our autism programs or early childhood intervention programs, please reach out to your BCBA or Intervention Specialist as we are offering several telehealth/virtual options for treatment until we are able to once again have the children back in our buildings.

As we continue to follow the guidelines of our local health officials, our State Governor and the CDC, Texana Center has extended the closures of our autism programs and our learning centers for adults with IDD through May 1, 2020 in an effort to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.  If you have any questions, please refer to the contact info posted below.

As the COVID-19 continues to be an evolving situation day by day, Texana is modifying our operations accordingly.  As we have previously stated, we did make the tough decision to temporarily close several of our autism programs and our learning centers for adults with IDD due to the CDC recommended guideline of no large gatherings.  We are also modifying our other programs that will remain open. Please see below for those modifications:

Updates on our Behavioral Healthcare (BH) Services:

    • CRISIS HOTLINE IS AND WILL REMAIN OPEN.  If you or someone you know are having a mental health crisis, please call this hotline at 1-800-633-5686.
    • Behavioral Healthcare Clinics will be reaching out to those individuals with scheduled appointments to set up visits by phone or video chat.
    • If you are not currently in our BH services and would like to inquire about getting services, please call one of our clinics to complete an intake questionnaire over the phone.

Updates on our Intellectual & Developmental Disability Services:

  • Service coordination is being provided via phone and video monitoring.
  • Learning Centers will remain closed through April 10, 2020.
  • Client Service Planning Meetings will be conducted via phone or teleconference to reduce the risk of spreading the virus to clients and families.

 

Updates on our Specialized Services:

We have implemented additional safety guidelines in all areas of Specialized Services as directed by Texas Health and Human Services and CDC to reduce risks.

 

These are unprecedented times requiring new levels of flexibility and perseverance across the communities we serve.  We thank you for your patience and cooperation as we adjust our operations to keep everyone as safe as possible.

  Wednesday, March 18, 2020 1:00pm Texana Leadership Team is continuing to follow recommendations of the CDC as well as local and state officials.  As such, we have made the decision to extend the closure of all locations of Texana Learning Centers, Children’s Center for Autism (CCA), Behavior Improvement Center (BIC), and BeST through Friday, April 10, 2020.

Friday, March 13, 2020 12:00pm The COVID-19 virus is an evolving situation day by day and we at Texana Center must address this issue day by day as well. The health and safety of all of the clients we serve as well as our employees/families are our top concern. We realize that Texana Center is a part of the fabric of the critical safety net for our community and we serve many vulnerable populations that will continue to need our services during this critical time.  The following adjustments will be made to programs that serve large numbers of clients in a group setting:

  • All 5 Texana Learning Centers will be closed to clients served beginning Monday 3/16 through Friday 3/20.  This includes Learning Centers located in Rosenberg, Missouri City, Wharton, El Campo, and Eagle Lake.  For questions regarding Texana Learning Center closures, please contact Manuel Lopez Jr. at 281-238-1753.

 

  • All locations of Children’s Center for Autism (CCA), Behavior Improvement Center (BIC) and BeST programs will be closed for designated clients and services beginning Monday 3/16 through Friday 3/20.  For questions regarding CCA, BIC, BeST closures, please email CCAAdmissions@texanacenter.com

 

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely with both federal, state and local officials to communicate and follow the CDC guidance for businesses and personal preparedness.  We will continue to update this page with any new changes to our services.    

 

 

Thursday, March 12, 2020  1:00pm Over the past 24 hours there have been a number of developments regarding COVID-19 and the potential for increased community spread. Now more than ever, it is important that we all do our part to help stop the spread and follow CDC and state and local health department guidelines.
