The Brazos River Rotary Club presented Texana Center a grant to fund some much needed items at the Fulshear Campus. The grant is being used to purchase glass partitions in the Texana Bistro & Boutique to keeps customers COVID safe. Something that wasn’t part of the original plan and has delayed the opening. They also outfitted the autism classrooms with 8 acrylic partitions on wheels as well as supplying us with some always needed, hand sanitizer.
The Texana Bistro & Boutique is a retail-training center in the front portion of the Fulshear campus for teens and young adults with autism and/or intellectual disabilities. Here, they will get hands-on experience working in a restaurant and retail setting. Texana Bistro will serve coffee, sandwiches and salads and it has a drive thru! The Bistro will also sell items crafted by individuals with disabilities.
