Intake and Admissions

This is the starting point for people seeking information about what services are available for persons with an intellectual or developmental disability. Texana Center plays a key role in helping people access the state system of services for persons with an intellectual and developmental disabilities. The State of Texas authorizes Texana Center to perform specific activities, and these activities are called Authority Services.

Authority Services are:

• Intake – Talking to someone who knows the person to decide if Texana Center can help
• Eligibility – Testing, by a Licensed Psychologist, to determine if the person qualifies for services
• Find Services – Helping the person find statewide interest lists, programs and crisis assistance
• Service Coordination – Planning and monitoring services received by the person
