Home and Community Based Services – Adult Mental Health is a program that provides home and community based services to adults with serious mental illness.  The program provides an array of services to meet each individual’s needs.  This helps the individual to live and experience successful tenure in their chosen community.  Services are designed to support long term recovery from mental illness.  Although Texana Center is not a provider for HCBS-AMH, Texana Center does manage the inquiry line for Texana’s six county catchment area and make referrals to the HCBS-AMH program.

Texans 18 or older with a mental illness and Medicaid, may be eligible if they meet one of the following criteria:

  • Spent three or more of the past five years in a psychiatric hospital
  • Had four or more arrests in the past three years and a history of mental health crisis
  • Had 15 or more emergency room visits in the past three years and a history of mental health crisis

If you would like to be assessed for HCBS-AMH, call the Inquiry Hotline at 281-239-1485 and press option 2.
