Texana Center’s Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) is a team of professionals on hand to assist during a mental health crisis. A crisis is defined when a person is likely to harm themselves or others.

If a crisis arises and usual methods of coping have failed, call the Texana Crisis Hotline at  1-800-633-5686.

The Crisis Hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by a qualified mental health professional. The call will proceed as follows:

  • The professional on the phone will assess the situation to determine the next step.
  • If there is an immediate danger to the person or others, then the hotline
  • professional will contact the first responders in that area.
  • They will also contact the Texana Center MCOT staff on call to meet the individual at a safe location via a clinic, the hospital or a police station.
  • MCOT staff will determine the next course of action including giving a community referral, scheduling an initial intake appointment at a Texana Behavioral

Healthcare Clinic, or even coordinating inpatient hospitalization.

The goal of MCOT is to assess and help individuals in a crisis as effectively and efficiently as possible and in the least restrictive manner.
