There are corresponding costs to each option. When considering the cost, remember that this high level of intense treatment is not typically intended to last throughout the child’s school years. The high level is needed to teach the child to respond to their environment in such a way that they can benefit from a less intensive program it is the most effective intervention for children with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, but it can be costly. It is also helpful to think of the cost in terms of one year at a time.
