Children in the programs are funded by private pay, private insurance and for a limited number of children meeting eligibility criteria, a grant from the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services. There are corresponding costs to each option. When considering the cost, remember that this high level of intense treatment is not typically intended to last throughout the child’s school years. The high level is needed to teach the child to respond to their environment in such a way that they can benefit from a less intensive program it is the most effective intervention for children with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, but it can be costly. It is also helpful to think of the cost in terms of one year at a time.

For the Children’s Center for Autism Private Pay Program and Professional Behavior Analysis Services, costs are as follows:

  • Private Pay
  • Private Insurance
    • Business office staff are here to assist you with insurance coverage verification and pre-authorization.
    • Each child’s insurance coverage is unique and must be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

 

For the HHSC Children’s Autism Program, the costs are dependent on:

  • Based on family size and income, parents are responsible for a percentage (cost share) of the total cost for treatment
